Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was an ancient art of healing originated in China over 5000 years ago. TCM recognized the important relationship between health and the harmonious balance of a human body physically, mentally and spiritually.

Acupuncture, herbology, acupressure, nutrition, and exercise are some of the important components of TCM. Oriental Medicine is an evolution of TCM, as this natural form of treatment becomes widely accepted and practiced throughout the world.

In modern China, Traditional Chinese Medicine is a mainstream medicine in most hospitals. They compliment each other, and can be integrated to offer the optimal benefits to the patient.

Acupuncture is Effective
Acupuncture is the insertion of a very fine pre-sterilized needle into specific parts of a body (acupoint), in the belief that a proper prescription of acupoints will stimulate the response of a body system to correct, strengthen and heal itself.

The effectiveness of acupuncture as been well documented. The World Health Organization has cited over 100 different conditions that acupuncture can treat successfully. Acupuncture is safe when performed by a properly trained practitioner.

Acupuncture Treatments
A treatment plan based on a patient condition will be setup. Generally, a patient may see the condition improve after 6-12 treatments. Then the plan will be revised according to the progress. But the total number of treatments is determined by the severity of the condition, type of ailment, patient constitition and patient response.
